処女作『ケルト/装飾的思考』(筑摩書房)で、日本に「ケルト芸術文化Celtic Art and Culture」を最初に紹介し、ブームを巻き起こした、ケルト芸術文化研究の第一人者。また日本の歴史的デザインと哲学を、ユーロ=アジア世界(Euro-Asian World) の文明交流史の視点から、再発見している。

Leading authority of Celtic Art and Culture research, she was the first person who introduced “Celtic Art and Culture” to Japan and drove a boom with her first book “Celt/ Decorative thought” published by Chikuma Shobo Publishing Co., Ltd. She also rediscovers Japanese historical design and philosophy through the view point of history on the civilization exchange in Euro-Asian World.
Not only she investigates "Celtic" heritage in European countries including Ireland, but also pursues ethnic history and present of Eurasian countries such as Nei Mongol and Uzbekistan, etc.
