Yoriko KAWAGUCHI

(前)外務大臣・環境大臣 参議院議員

通商産業省にて三十年近く勤務。その間、世界銀行エコノミスト、在アメリカ合衆国日本国大使館公使も歴任。その後、サントリー常務取締役へ。森内閣において 環境庁長官・環境大臣、小泉内閣において 環境大臣、外務大臣、退任後内閣総理大臣補佐官(外交担当)。2005年10月参議院神奈川県補欠選挙にて初当選。

現在、参議院議員として、行政改革特別委員会、および、外交防衛委員会の委員などを務めるほか、自由民主党において、政調副会長を務める他、女性に関する特別委員会委員長の職責にある。

また、海外において、ワールド・エコノミック・フォーラム　ヤンググローバルリーダーズフォーラム基金委員、エール大学　国際活動に関する学長諮問会議委員、国連環境計画　ザイード国際環境賞 審査委員を務める。

Also, Deputy Chairperson, Policy Research Council, Liberal Democratic Party of Japan

Served on many Japanese Government advisory boards including the Regulatory Reform Committee, the Central Council for Education and the University Council.

Presently, Jury of the Zayed International Prize for the Environment, UNEP, Chairperson of the Asia-Pacific Forum for Environment and Development (APFED)2, Member of the Foundation Board of the Forum of Young Global Leaders, World Economic Forum, and Member of the President's Council on International Activities, Yale University.
